One of its pin would be connected to the flyback and the horizontal yoke.(The yoke would be the copper winding on the neck of the tube) be aware you don't touch the thick wire from the flyback to the back of the tube because a tv tube can carry open-handed amount of lethal charge even if not plugged in! Take that transistor out of the circuit and test it with an ohmmeter. Set the meter to "diode" with the transistor fa you. the first pin is the base. Connect the red wire to that then the black pin should read around 0.4 voltage drop it maybe a little highe on the other two pins.. If you get a reading that is low it is shorted out. Note tho that some supine output transistor have a resistor connected to the first, and last pin (base emmiter confluence) then it gets confusing. If in doubt just replace it. The cost of a supine output transistor is around a few bucks. Make sure you buy two of them! If the TV turned on after you raplace it but later spoiled again. You have to replace the flyback too. This time use your spare transistor along with a new flyback, which get from 20- 50 dollars. Hope this helps.

A: When your relay ON/OFFS actual fast after pushing the power button, it indicates Excess In circulation flow thru the power supply....
So....separate the power supply from the DEFLECTION circuits first and turn upside down c overturn it on.
If it stops ON/OFFING the relay, then you know to concentrate on the Deflection circuits for a shorted Horiz achievement or HV output or Vert Output circuit....a scope will separate that problem to the component, especially if the HV circuit has it's own Voltage regulator on the "Emitter to Settle" path of your HV output.
They separated the Horiz and HV circuits several years ago to relieve Horiz breathing on the CRT projection TV sets......
Back to the problem....
IF your TV set still Clicks ON/OFF after separating your Deflection circuits from the power come up with then you know the Power supply itself is where the short is...It could be a shorted rectifier on the 130V girth.
Another DEFLECTION circuit to try is the CONVERGENCE amps...they can short out and shut down the power stock too.
In fact, it would be the VERY FIRST circuit I'd check.
And I would intially check it by marking the convergence yoke connectors and succeed the plugs and fire it up...
If it stays on, then you know where the problem is.....
