I have a LG 42" Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV (42PG25) - How do you get the surround sound to play through the TV?
Q: speakers and the ring sound at the same time?
Also when i have my laptop hooked up to the TV, i have a jack going from the headphone seaport on my laptop and a red and white connection going into the corresponding RGB ports at the back of the TV, but the TV still wont caper the sound, any idea why? I have a macbook btw.

A: In the mainMost of TV and surround sound system won't let you hear the sound at the same time, you have to choose one.

Q: I have purchased an LG 42PG25 Plasma TV in the US. I have recently moved to the UK. What do I desideratum to do to be able to use my TV here in the UK?
A: Several problems, so understandable some not so simple
Simple:
As it will have RCA-Phone inputs, so SCART to RCA cable will be needed.
it will have been expected for 60Hz TV not 50Hz of Europe
TV it can recieve.
- nothing off air, as TV in the UK is completly different for both analogue and digital, to that against in the US.
- you will have to use an external tuner box like Sky or Freesat or Freeview.
And if below limitations are literal (and they probably will be), then with an HD output only.
So your best chance, is to get one of these tuner boxes and see if the TV will trade with them.

- PAL (as opposed to NTSC for the US)
- 50Hz/625 profession rates.
- Full HD (1720p, 1080i, 1080p - from Spec...OK )
then you can work out if you are circumscribed to
- using HD feeds (you have no 50Hz/625 line support)
- using RGB feeds (you have no PAL affirm in the spec, but it is not clear if it would do 50hz)
US models of TV's are usually made ONLY for the market needs. - it only has an NTSC tuner.
European (and more so Asiapac) sets have sustained supported US and UK TV formats, but not the otherway around.

you are favoured, the spec says it supports both.
Even then, if you set does not support 50Hz (even at HD) then you may have no luck.
I comprehend you have what you have, but it could be better to find a US forces base in the UK, and sell it to them, and buy a set designed for the UK market.
