    Product Description

Sharp-witted picture quality, brilliant color and resonating sound are just a few immediate benefits that you will endure from the PT Series of Panasonic televisions. With many sophisticated features and fine-pitch viewing screen with forward looking screen shield, this TV set is just an exemplary product of the quality such televisions should provide.Yield FEATURES:Aspect Ratio - 16: 9 (Widescreen);HDTV Compatibility 480p/720p/1080i;Digital Comb Trickle - Motion-Adaptive 3D-Y/C;Progressive Cinema Scan (3/2 Pulldown);Progressive Scrutinize Doubler;Wideband Video Amplifier;Artificial Intelligence Sound;BBE High Precision Sound;Built-In Closed Caption Decoder;Surround Sound;Photo Viewer SD / PC Business card Slot;Parental Guidance (Channel Lock and Game Guard);Picture-in-Impression Capability - 2-Tuner with Split Screen.
The slim-corps PT-50LC13 liquid-crystal projection TV offers a perfectly flat, 50-inch array in a widescreen (16:9) dimension that's perfect for viewing DVDs in their native aspect ratios. The rich-definition-ready set is equipped with a total of 13 different inputs, including four part-video inputs, a DVI digital video input for a direct digital connection with a DTV set-top box, and two PC inputs (skilled of VGA, SVGA, or compressed XGA resolution). A handy PCMCIA/SD Memory Card slot lets you ensnare up your computer for viewing a digital photo slide show.

The set offers a native resolution of 1,280 x 720 closely high, 400 cd/m2 brightness ensures vivid, exacting images from DVD players and other devices. What's more, Panasonic's Dynamic Scan Doubler will upconvert standard interlaced (nonprogressive) broadcast and auxiliary signals to twinkling-free, 480p resolution.

The PT-50LCL13 is considerably less bulky than most rear-projection televisions and consumes less dynamism. Further, LCD displays don't suffer from misconvergence or flicker, like their CRT counterparts. The Panasonic multimedia display incorporates thin-cloud transistor (TFT) technology, also known as active matrix, to improve color reproduction, cross out ghosting, and boost response speed. TFT technology also helps achieve an extraordinary cheeriness level of 700 to 800 cd/m2.

Two-tuner picture-in-picture with split-screen show off lets you view two programs at once by dividing the screen in half down the middle. Each program is shown at full crest, with one program on the left side and the other on the right. Eight-bit PIP image processing provides 256 levels of gray from pitch-black to white in the inset picture for finer image detail.

Movie sources get their due with Panasonic's 3:2 pulldown idiosyncrasy, Progressive Cinema Scan. This enhancement compensates for motion artifacts that sometimes result from the telecine answer that's used to convert film's 24-frames-per-second to an NTSC-friendly 60 frames per tick. Other picture-enhancing features include horizontal and vertical edge correction and a agitation-adaptive 3D Y/C digital comb filter, which eliminates "hanging dots" and color rainbow effects in neatly spaced patterns.

    What's in the Box
TV, remote control, remote batteries, and user's manual.

    Customer Reviews

The senses I dont buy Panasonic anymore.
This TV was the worst win I made in my life. Ive been through 3 lamps and am having problems again. I let my wife talk me into spending 150 for a lamp as a substitute for of buying a new TV. Huge mistake. This TV has caused me embarassment, frustration and hopelessness. Panasonic should have taken concern of their customers when they bought this lemon. There was a class action lawsuit but unfortunately I missed the small craft. Regardless I will not buy a Panasonic again, not because they are not usually a good product but because of how the company handled this situation, which was caveat emptor at its worst.
Down to the ground Unreliable ...
First, I necessity to disclose a bit of my the back-story regarding how I came into this TV. About 4 years or so ago I bought this second-hand as a alms to myself for a new job that I'd gotten. The LCD's hadn't yet become an industry standard, and the CRT's were already obsolete. Rear projection DLP was really the greatest option out there at the time. So after shopping classified ads for awhile, I eventually came across this model from Panasonic and I jumped at it. I bought it for a Ditty compared to what other similar pieces were selling for at the time. It didn't have HDMI inputs (which was something that unquestionably gave me a little pause), but in the end the picture quality with component cables was still able to withstand a 1080i picture (which was what I wanted) ... so I was in.

As for the TV, the picture is really pretty nice! It has a gracious viewing range, is easy to operate, has an SD slot for your digital camera media, and the notion quality is solid! In THAT respect, I really don't have anything to complain about at all and have been pretty happy with its performance ... when its working. This leads me to my next concerning, the one where I tell you that I'm on my third replacement lamp. They're easy to replace and (thankfully) the price of the lamp has afflicted with down quite a bit, but the simple fact that I've spent over $300 in maintenance for this thing is REALLY irritating. At first I was saying to myself "I bought this worn, it kind of comes with the territory." After doing this three times though and reading that this is a common problem in this descent, I can tell you I still feel justified in complaining about the toilet-bowl level reliability. A fallout THIS NEW, regardless of WHAT it is, should NOT need to have this much time and trouble extended in simply keeping it working.

If you come to a decision to bite on this particular model, buy it with an extra lamp and housing to guarantee its shelf-lifetime in your entertainment center. I PROMISE you'll need it. The funny part is, if you can come across one cheap enough (and that shouldn't be hard-nosed ' given the frustration level associated with it) I can't even necessarily tell you it's a "bad deal." When it's working (and that is NOT the "donn" you'd expect it to be) the picture quality IS really nice! Be absolutely warned though, you'll be an expert in TV condition after a few years ...
    Breaks a lot
We had to restore the lamp a few times in 4 years. The lamps are very expensive: 250 dollars. We also experienced other problems that we had to fix. Once turned on the painting appears slowly - about a minute. If it was turned off and then turned on again, you need to wait three minutes for the TV to start working, which is very irritating.
    surprised
i have only had the HDVT for a smidgin over a year - and i do NOT watch that much TV. Yet - i see a line (red) running through my TV - totally unacceptable for more than $2,000 spent - when my late LCD lasted 5 years (and I bought the FLOOR MODEL), and my OLD Zenith TV - old school - had beautiful image for 10 years. disappointed. My brother's HDTV looked just fine - desire I had read more reviews first - but had heard very good news...
would give it refusing stars if i could
this tv is the worst win i have ever made. the bulbs go out every few months and need to be replaced. huge hassle. would like my money back and a new abundant tv.

I ordered this from Samsung with expediated shipping. Five life later when it should have arrived I finally contacted the shipper and they said it was out of stock.
They claim Amazon should have notified me. In the end nobody did.
Do not buy from Samsung -they are untrained.
Do not buy anything from Amazon , they are also unprofessional.
    Thorough replacement
Works like a perfectly. Easy to install. Took out the old lamp from the TV and inserted the new one. TV is back to working condition.
    Bad
The rhizome blew within 3 weeks. The tv is in the shop being repaired with a new bulb.
    A toy disappointed
This lamp in actuality has a yellowish hazy spot on the lower left side of the lens. It was a great price for the part, but we will presumably replace it again in the near future because it's a bit annoying.

Our Panasonic PT-50LC13 worked pleasant until a four of weeks ago when it started charming longer and longer for the lamp to emerge b be published on.
