    This HDTV should be recalled
I got this at a out-and-out deal in a store around the holidays of 07. I played it smart and registered for the 2 year bond threw Philips. 2 years and 2 months after i bought this TV it died. The TV first started to go black and randomly disenchant on and off. Some time after that it would occassionally let out a high pitched screetching sound out of its speakers and shut off. After unplugging it and replugging it back in i would get it to line for a short time when the problem would occur again.

Finally i contact Philips and they said that this models was no longer under commitment and couldn't be replaced or fixed. They suggested to me to take it to a local repair shop to get it fixed...

After doing delve into online i discovered that im not the only one with this problem. Apparently soon after warranty for many people the TV died. This mind-boggler is caused by a faulty part in the TV's motherboard that causes it to fry it completely. The average repair cost i saw online was $200+ which doesn't tabulate labor. So for the first time in my entire life i had to throw away a TV.

If you google this model you will find nearly the same storys and you will wonder why wasn't this model recalled. There is a none defect in this product and Philips refuses to admit it. After this experience i will never buy another HDTV from Philips again. Steer clear of this TV.
Redoubtable! Do not buy - Stopped working after two years
As many other reviewers have famous, the TV was working fine for a year and then started turning itself on and off and making this high-pitched gruesome noise everytime it was turned on. The TV would also freeze up in the process.

We also bought a TV/DVD combo (3340V/17) from Philips and the same point occured. The combo would randomly turn itself on and off and would open and close the DVD holder multiple times before playing. These are offensive products! When I called Philips regarding the issue, the company would not fix it because the one-year warranty had passed. We are now guilty for paying out of pocket for repairs. Given the same consistent issue reported by other users, it is more than promising that there is a defect with these devices.
    Percentage OF JUNK
Worked delicate for about 18 months and then began having the same problem as so many others have experienced with this model. Upon turning on the set, it began emitting an ear-splitting screeching ballyhoo and shutting itself off and on again, over and over, all the while making the nearly unbearable noise. The repair (faulty power cabinet) is as costly as a brand new set. Infuriating that Philips does nothing about this -- these televisions should be recalled.
    Don't buy Philips
We bought this TV a inconsequential more than a year ago for our bedroom. It's worked well up until 3 months ago when we started having problems that many, many others seem to have with Philips TVs (just do a search). When you first exchange it on, the sound is terrible - sounds like static and popping. After 20 minutes, the blooming is better, but still not clear as it used to be. Additionally, there is a static popping sound that comes from time to time from the back of the TV and it will turn itself off. The only way to get it to come back on is to unplug it for a minute and then plug it back in. Philips support is basically non-existent. Protect your money and the environment by buying something that will last more than one year!!
No Lead what the others are talking about
I bought my TV in the begin of 2007. 2 and a half years later, mine still works as good as the day I bought it. The only problem I've had with it is that the "Phillips" letters started falling off a week after I bought it, and now rather than of saying "PHILLIPS" it now reads "ILIP," not really something that has anything to do with the quality of the TV. The HD picture is superb, Blu-ray pictures look spectacular, and PS3 games look amazing. The sound quality is still good. Possibly I just got lucky, but as I said, my TV is still as good as the day I bought it.

    righteousness, when it works
I bought one of these and it stopped turning on about a week after getting it. I called Philips finance, who shipped me out a new one without much hassle. I got the new one along with a pre-paid FedEx label. Free shipping back was nice, although sinking off to FedEx is a pain if you don't live near a dropoff center. Anyway, the second TV stopped turning on as well about two weeks later. Same controversy. On a hunch, I unplugged the power cable for about 30 mins, and the TV worked after plugging it back in. Not the maximum effort solution for a brand new TV, but better than sending TVs back and forth constantly and getting the same crappy image back.

Philips customer service seemed very nice (and english-speaking), but this model is a definite lemon.
    Don't even go there . . .
I bought two of these at a shire store in the spring. They were for guest rooms that are occupied maybe 4 or 5 weekends a year. Got accessible and decided to check Amazon reviews. (I know, cart before the horse.) So, I interpret the reviews and think hmmm . . . what are the chances this TV is REALLY that bad? Pretty good chances, as it turns out. But the reviews had haunted me. (I in actuality hung on to the boxes until October, and the TVs were working when I checked them then.) Today I went in one of the guest rooms to mutation the linens, so I turned it on, just for kicks. Dead as a door nail. The TV has not been watched more than 20 hours complete since purchased. The second is still working. At least the reviews made me nervous enough that I saved all my paperwork, including takings, and for once I actually did mail in the warranty card. But save yourself the heartache, and Just Don't Do It.
Set will not revolve about on
Within 6 weeks of procure the set would not turn on. This set was purchased to use on our sailing catmaran. It was unpacked, tested for five minutes to see if it worked and stored in a lodgings in the house. It would not turn on ( no light, no picture, no sound)when we needed it.Philips 19PFL3403D/27 19-Inch LCD HDTV
So Depressing to add , issues TV will not turn on
Bought this goggle-box as a gift, now i find out after 2 months the TV will not turn on, and repeatedly has issues. very disappointing .. reaching out to stick now, but based on other reviews not expecting much
When it works it works well-thought-of
I gave this to my little woman for Christmas. After about i month it would not turn on. My wife called Phillips and they sent out a new TV. After 1 1/2 weeks the new one does the same fad. If they are unplugged for a while they turn on and remember all of the settings. When it works, it looks and sounds good. Snare was very easy and it detected the 10 digital stations we get from cable. Rather than get another problem tv sent to us I may justifiable plug it in to a power strip and turn it off and on from that. The TV does have a sleep timer. Knowing what I grasp now, I would not buy this again or recommend it to anyone else.

    My Pixelated Philips HDTV?

Q: I have a Philips 19PFL5422D 19-Inch LCD HDTV. I have it relevant to a Dish Network cable. I dont have HD channels, and to a PS3 via HDMI Mailgram. It all looks good, but most of the channels when i watch television, are pixelated. Is there in a different place to fix this or is it the channels? Someone help please.
