Power Supplies went bad
I bought this TV around February of 2009. I have never ordered a chief appliance before on the web. When it arrived it was well packed, and though a little troublesome to get in the house it was OK. Every thing went very well and hooked up definitively. When I turned on the unit it was Beautiful. The pictures is sharp and clean, The blue ray video is the most qualified I have ever owned. The sound from the tv speakers is OK, not horrible not spectacular, average to maybe a little under. You can qui vive for movies and shows and not be bothered by it but your definitely going to want to have an external receiver system for that theater take oneself to be sympathize when watching movies.
The reason I gave this set a 3 was, after 7 months it started taking longer and longer to rotate on. The leds on the front would blink, the set would try to come on then wouldn't. The 3 leds on the front would sequence back to the beginning and then the set would come on. This went on for about 2 weeks until one day they would legitimate cycle with no picture ever appearing. I called Samsung and they gave me an rma number and a local shop called me and set up an place. They came out 4 days later and replaced both the Primary and Secondary power supplies. State took around an hour but now the set works great again. A couple of things....I was very disappointed this set had a devastating failure in under a year and live in fear now that this is a design problem with the set and it will have to be done over and over again. 2nd thing is the repair tech took one look at the set and knew closely what was wrong with it, even brought the parts in before looking at it. This could have been because I described the problem so well I troubleshot it for him or it could be that whenever this model breaks that's the predicament indicating a design flaw. Any way, The set has been working great ever since the repair and I am very happy with the picture. If you buy one and don't have any problems with the electronics, You will be very elated with your purchase.

Most desirable TV Yet!
Bought it when Ambit City was closing. Paid $2200 out the door. Knock wood, has been a great TV since day one. Many options, firmware updateable, basic picture, HDMI inputs, great for blueray movies. We don't go to the theatre any more! Only issue is demagogue placement as it has to be turned up to hear when using internal speakers - I think this was designed with abode theatre in mind. What's great about this TV (besides the outstanding picture) is it is has an LED driver - so there are no bulbs to replace!! Pronounced value!

Superlative value for the size!
I did a lot of inspect before purchasing. Size was my main concern. Could not see spending 4K on a plasma TV. Did not want the hassle of a DLP. LED seemed the A-one choice for me. When I saw this set at Best Buy I could not believe the picture! This thing is huge! Super crisp and magnificent! I purchased online with extended warranty (just in case) Paid around $1700. Which included voluntary delivery. Factory speakers are lame, but considering the price I am super satisfied!!! Did I consign to oblivion to mention the picture is freaking huge! Now I am waiting for the Samsung 73" to be offered in LED. Thanks again Samsung for a gigantic product!!!!

Not counting DLP HDTV that beats both Plasma and LCD
This is my help Samsung DLP HDTV. I bought it in February, 2009 and still own it. The colors and resolution are better than the previous DLP that I owned (the faster on was based on a color wheel, which after 5 years had to be replaced) - this one is LED based which (in theory) should last longer. I also own a Panasonic Plasma (50") and have compared it with the Plasma side-by-side. The Plasma TV has more enhanced colors whereas the Samsung has more unconstrained colors.
I usually watch sports or movies and have not seen any video lag - the close-up notion is excellent. I do not use the speakers that are on the TV but have connected the TV to a Yamaha surround sound receiver using HDMI and audio cables - also have a Blu-Ray DVD trouper connected and even when I play regular DVDs they seem to be very sharp. I'm not sure if that is because of the Blu-Ray player or because of the TV.
What I like about the TV in into the bargain to the above is that is light enough to be moved by one person. The delivery person was very good - he and his helper unpacked and placed the TV where I wanted it and did a prime test to see that everything was working.
When watching movies, either DVD based or from cable - the HD rendering is excellent - very fashionable, blacks are blacks and with very natural colors.
All in all, I would strongly recommended this TV brand - my first Samsung DLP worked immaculately for 5 years before I sold it and this one has worked flawlessly since I bought it in Feb of this year - the build quality rivals that of the other prominent Japanese brands with a price that is a fraction of what you will pay for similar plasma or LCD TVs.

mitsubishi doesnt double for behind products
This tv is ok. i had an 82" Nautical aft projection list over $15,000 and after 5 years they quit making the lamp which needed replaced every 800 hours. In the long run had to throw the TV out since is of no value without a lamp.

Best but some issues
First off, unless you're acclimated to to a front projector this screen is huge. Properly adjusted the colors look great, the idea is sharp, black levels are very good, and motion is smooth. No, not plasma smooth but still very full. The set is very light. Extremely easy for two adults to move around. Great price and value.
Cons: My set has a geometry dispute that I have not been able to compensate for. This may require a service call. No apparent benefit from the 120Hz mode.
The geometry matter can only be seen on views like the PS3 menu screen or satellite guide channel. Not marked in regular programing but it does bug me. I'll report back if it is fixable or not.

Can't get much think twice than this
When it comes to TVs in the living accommodation, bigger is always better so, when time came to replace our 61" Samsung DLP I had no idea what my next TV was going to be, other than it was prevalent to be bigger and that, of course, I was going to afford it. Mitsubishi's WD-73737 was the easy winner and this is why:
- Rate - well, 73" is bigger than 61", right? As far as I know, there aren't too many LCD or plasma TVs this big, at least not anything that I can afford. Our living compartment is rather large - it's really most of our first floor (open style architecture) so it helps to have a big screen. Mitsubishi makes an 82" paragon but I had also to consider...
- PRICE - we have a clear winner here. When it comes to price/size ratio, DLP's are by far the least dear option.
- ENERGY EFFICIENCY - according to my research, the WD-73737 burns about 265W when 'on' (this includes the 180W lamp). By juxtaposing, a 70" LCD needs 540-630W to operate.
- 3D CAPABILITY - it's a potential plus. Mitsubishi does not stand behind that its TV will be compliant with whatever 3D standard is about to emerge but... it might.
Of course, not everything is perfect so, here are the potential 'minuses':
- LAMP - when it comes to 'bring in of ownership', we must factor in the DLP's lamp. The Mitsubishi manual expects its lamp to last for about one year but our Samsung was still okay after 2 years with the imaginative lamp so, we shall see. A replacement for this model, direct from Mitsubishi is $99 and I will get a free one under undertaking if the original needs replacement before one year. Given the great energy savings when compared to an LCD TV, I am not too ill at ease about having to replace the lamp from time to time.
- BULK - this set is over 90 lbs. heavy and over 12" at its thickest. Patently, can't hang it on a wall. Therefore...
- STAND - you must have one. We are using the one that came with the old 61" and all is fine but if you don't have one it should set you back a few more hundred bucks.
- THE Protect - nothing wrong with it but, when compared with our old Samsung, this is just a little more reflective. It's not so to the point of being annoying at night if lights are on in the live but sometimes it is noticeable.
Since we already had a stand, didn't want to hang a 73" TV on the wall and the need to substitute for the lamp was compensated by its energy savings, we went for the WD-73737 without hesitation and we are happy we did.
OUR Snare
A TV this size would normally be used in a home theater setting and, it turns out, that's how we use it. We have a satellite TV box, a PS3, dedicated Blu-ray virtuoso a 7.1 surround receiver and a Harmony 900 remote. The TV comes with LOTS of inputs, including 3 HDMI but, in our package, the setup started with plugging the TV into the power outlet, connecting the HDMI cable into one of TV's HDMI ports and, since I had the Unity 900 already configured to handle the TV, that was IT, we were watching TV within 5 minutes of it coming out of the box.
Later own, we did some fine tuning but, it turns out, very wee had to be adjusted. We made sure that the frame rate was set to 120 fps and, for the rest, we took the recommended settings from the Grip TV site and didn't have to change too much from what they recommended. We ended up with:
Picture Mode: Natural
Go red Temperature: Low
Aspect Ratio: Standard
Contrast: 55
Brightness: 36
Color: 31
Tint: 31
Sharpness: 31
Dark Field Imager: Off
Super Resolution: Off
Sharp Edge: Off
Video Noise: Off
The end-sequel is as close to picture-prefect as they come.
I have nothing to say about the sound - it can simulate 'surround' with its own speakers - because we are not using it. Same when it comes to approach tuning or setting up 'activities'. These are fully handled by the satellite receiver and the Harmony lonely but all the capabilities are there. Same when it comes to the remote which is quite small - a nice thing - but it may take some getting acclimatized to when it comes to the buttons size (small) and their layout.
WARRANTY
On an object this size, this is an influential concern so, here's what matters:
- The screen is only covered for 30 (THIRTY) days.
- The picture dignity warranty states that Mitsubishi will fix it if you get less than 99.99% of the pixels right. In other words, you should have at least 9,999 out of 10,000 pixels redress. On a 2-million pixel screen this means that if you have up to 199 bad pixels, Mitsubishi is not obligated to fix your TV.
- Everything else is suffused for one year.
- The lamp will be replaced free of charge if it needs replacement within the first year.
- Aid is provided 'in house' IF you are withing the coverage of an authorized Mitsubishi center. If you're not, you will be responsible for irresistible your TV there so you better check you are inside a Mitsubishi service area.
MY RATING
This TV delivers quite what I wanted and expected: a large, bright, crisp picture that, thanks to the 120 fps flourish has very little blur on fast moving objects. The drawbacks: need to replace the lamp, uncommon layout on the remote, bulk are either counterbalanced by other features or did not matter much in my case. Not everyone could live with a TV that's not absolutely flat or that needs a stand but if the main concerns are picture quality, price, measure assess and energy consumption, this TV is hard to beat.
I will grant the WD-73737 5 stars because I own it and I am very happy with it.

Only just the best I've seen
I have had this now for about two weeks. I got it the first Saturday of the Olympics and when I plugged it into the HD guy and it came to life it was just awesome. It was like I was there with the skiers coming down the hill. I use a recipient for sound so I can't really say how the speakers sound. Then I played a blue ray and well can say again awesome. If you are thinking about buying this Deeply Theater machine then do it. You will not be sorry. I almost forgot playing HD games like MW2 is also awesome.
