Oblation a rich feature set and exceptional quality for its price, Samsung HPT5064 50-inch 720p plasma TV uses the party's latest DNIe enhancement circuitry to deliver outstanding brightness, contrast, and Doppelgaenger clarity. Use it for home theater and use it for your PC--it's perfect for both. In addition to a standard-broadcast NTSC tuner, it also features an integrated ATSC tuner that can take hold of over-the-air digital broadcasts from local network affiliates (the set will still require a set-top tuner for receiving non-global HD broadcasts from channels like HBO or Discovery). Other noteworthy features include a 60,000 hour panel spark of life, Samsung's unique auto pixel-shifting technology to prevent burn-in, a gaming course, cinema progressive film mode, and 3 HDMI connections. This model is also compatible with an Sedan wall-mount Samsung will release this year that is controllable in 3-dimensions via the HTDV's own remote knob.
Samsung currently offers two 50-inch 720p plasma models; this one and the lower priced HPT5054. this likeness is set apart from the HPT 4254 by its cosmetic design and by the inclusion of a USB 2.0 connection for playing photo files or MP3s. Both models advance the same high level of digital image processing, 15,000:1 contrast ratio, and HDMI connectivity. If you don't constraint the USB connection, you may want ot consider the the HPT4254.
The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an comprehensive improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, look-alike detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. Thanks to the new 13-bit processing skill of DNIe, the HP-S4253 can produce over 549 billion colors (compared to the one billion colors that TVs with 10-bit processing can put on.
Single-tuner Picture in Picture This HDTV has a picture-in-picture feature, but it only has a unmarried tuner which does not allow POP to function n the same mode. For example, you can't watch one TV channel in the duct screen and another channel in the PIP screen. You can watch a tv channel in one screen and view contnet from your computer or a DVD in another. This tends to be the working limitation of PIP in most HDTVs currently available.

Use it for knowledgeable in theater and use it for your PC--it's absolute for both. In too to a touchstone-scatter NTSC tuner, it also features an integrated ATSC tuner that can capture over-the-air digital broadcasts from specific network affiliates (the set will still demand a set-top tuner for receiving non-human HD broadcasts from channels like HBO or Conception). Other notable features involve a 60,000 hour panel memoirs, Samsung's single van pixel-shifting technology to mitigate singe-in, a gaming system, show continuing coating craze, and 3 HDMI connections. I won a Samsung HPT5054 720p 50" plasma TV at my company party...?
Q: ... and since then I've done some fact-finding and learned that it may have some issues with audio and image burn-in. I haven't received it yet and could divert it out to any other comparably priced TV that P.C. Richard's offers. Should I?
A: Straight out, I think the user below had some good advice, but the plasma TV's display is higher-ranking to that of the DLP and LCDs...the burn in issues are, in my opinion, wayyy overstated. The newer plasmas (like the HPT5054) don't have that consequence as much as the older models and IF you do experience the burn-in effect, it quickly resolves on its own.
We bought the 42" construct of that plasma TV and we are very happy with it...the black ratio is unbeatable and the sound nobility, while average, is easily supplemented with a surround sound system (which you should do anyways!).
As elongated as you operate your new HDTV with a great HD source (i.e. DirecTV HD) and maximize your set's capabilities with a HDMI Mailgram interface instead of the component A/V cables you will be fine.
If you are determined to "upgrade" your newly won TV I would imply sticking to the plasmas, specifically panasonic or pioneer and move up to 1080p possibly. I prefer the plasmas because image/color quality is the top priority for me...astute is gonna be a digital output from your HD source so that can always be complimented. And the burn-in, longevity issues are mostly a attitude of the past (unless you are unlucky enough to get a faulty set, which is a situation that could happen with LCD, DLP or Sheol...even CRT technology).
Whichever way you decide to go, good luck!
And happy "HDing"...you'll never wanna go back!
50" Plasma - Panasonic TH50PX77U or Samsung HPT5064 ?
Q: I safe haven't seen the Panasonic but the Samsung HPT5054 looks sweet at the store. The Samsung has a 15000:1 contrast proportion vs 10000:1 (PX77) but the glare screen doesn't compare to the Panasonic according to reviews. I am looking to be guaranteed before I buy. Have you seen the PX77?
A: I would mention favourably the Panasonic. Samsung have a bit of a bad reputation for breakdowns. I have recently purchased a 42" Panasonic Plasma and I cannot overly it. Picture quality is spot on and has bucket loads of technology on trustees. It will accept all signals and remaster all into 1080p, including SD! Panasonic are one of the discernment leaders in large screen Plasma. Check out Panasonic's web position for details.
Remember, dont take too much heed of what they look like in the aggregate, all the contrasts and colours are cranked up to compensate for the fluorescent lighting and it does not bring realistic domestic viewing conditions. Play around with the settings of the TV you are looking at and ask to see SD input as well as Hi Def input. Dont unbiased let them show you Cartoons either, these always look good on Hi Def and is a common sales trick.
