Samsung LN55A950 55 inch Full HD 1080p 120Hz LED LCD HDTV ...
This is my b Samsung TV and I am very appropriate with this attain. Steady its a outrageous TV but its also filled up with intimate features, tons of settings, and the latest LED backlight technology which provides vile flat that takes LCDs into Plasma turf without the power demands or tension of plasma. This new 55 inch takes less power than my old 40 inch LCD panel due to the quick backlight which turns down (or off) LEDs in dismal areas of the displayed portrait.
Whole I over recall its spitting image blue blood is up there with the great end Sony (LDC) and Pineer (plasma) displays. Samsung has as a matter of fact made a name for themselves in the last few years with there continually improving word of LCDs. I actually like how each input saves its own settings so you don’t have to accustom oneself to whenever you trade inputs.
For gaming: Like other LCDs, in its delinquency configuration there can be some put out with some games with latency and dead ringer haze. I had one greater exit with Sway Party when the dash behind the scrolling notes made the notes disclose. You can use “E-Procedure Competition” to fix this but I found a outdo result. Because you can not modification the cheeriness/distinction or backlight with “E-SOP Job”, I toughened HDMI2 input for the Xbox 360 and untouched the earmark on HDMI2 to “PC”. This tells the TV that you have a PC hooked up to HDMI2 and skips some of the flush and reification processing by the skin of one's teeth like the “E-System Feign” but you can now handle cheeriness/comparison and backlight. This only works on HDMI2 and its hurriedly mentioned in the directions but it makes a much healthier low latency job state than the “E-Fashion Job” that Samsung provides.
For Pictures: Much raise than any other LCD due to the excessive unspeakable levels. Impenetrable blacks and adroit unilluminated detail can be seen with this TV with the right-minded settings. With LED backlight and a Blu Ray trouper, blacks are physical sulky in place of of dreary silver and the Stygian bars on widescreen pictures evaporate from feeling. And because its and LCD, incandescent seens have much more sock than even the rout plasma displays.

How long is the life span for the Samsung LN55a950? Is it better or worse than current LCD TVs?
Q: So I have been redemptional up money for an awesome TV and I am looking at getting the Samsung LN55a950. However, last time I bought something that was top of the pursuit (Sony LCD projection TV) it backfired since the life span was so short before the TVs display began to deteriorate noticeably. So anyways I would like to keep the next tv I buy for at least 7 years. Do you muse on that current LED technology is reliable, or should I just get the Sony XBR6? Price is unmistakeably important, but since I am going to be keeping the TV a long time I want to go with something that will be sort of current down the road while not breaking down.
LN55a950 (~$4k) or the Sony kdl-52xbr6 (~$2600)
Thanks
Hi Peter thanks for responding.
I have seen the kuro in licit life, and the picture is nothing less than outstanding. However, I just dont think that it would last very great. My freind recently purchased a plasma and within a year he had the dreaded fire ins. I would rather stay away from plasma sets even though they have better pictures. And as far as the OLEDs, like you said I dont reflect on it would be worth that long to wait for a stable set that is over 50 inches. I be aware I cant expect to purchase a tv that competes with OLEDs when they become mainstream, but I just demand a TV that will give me a picture that can compete with it and last at least 6 or 7 years.
A: Plasmas of the upper nobility will not experience burn-in. They have anti-image retention technology. The Panasonic Viera's I recollect have it right there in the menu settings. But you need to condition them properly. When you first get the TV, for the first 100-200 hours you necessitate to crank the brightness and contrast (picture) settings way down. Let the gasses teach. Then optimize and use it. The modern ones can be left on for like 30+ years 24/7 before giving out on you. So I make up that meets your 6-7 year time span.
As for the LCDs, the Samsung 9 series are rocking sets. I wouldn't fear reliability with them. Samsung is doing an astounding job with their TVs. But as the other responder said, I don't know if I'd pay that much for a TV that "might" give Plasma a run for its wealth.
But as you're okay spending some real money here, the Sony set would be a perfectly legit alternative as well. I find them often a bit overpriced, but since you're not seeming to be on a fixed budget/number, that might not be such an issue for you. Though I think that Sony facsimile ranks inferior in picture quality tests against the Samsung options (even one like the LN52A750).
Which TV provides better contrast Samsung A950 LED LCD TV or Sony's XBR8 LED LCD TV?
Q: I proper recently purchased a Samsung LN55A950 and was comparing it for months to the XBR8 55 inch LED LCD TV as well as the new edgelit LED LCD TV's Samsung has released. I lover the A950's colors but I was just wondering what anyone else with one of these Televisions thought was more batter for your buck. Thanks!
A: Both end up with almost same features.Same 1,000,000:1 dynamoc contrast ratio.Personally I be partial to Samsung and I think it the best bang for your buck.Samsung LN55A950 have an excellent idea quality and cheaper than Sony for around $1500

or try consider new LED from Samsung UN55B7000 - 55" LCD TV.It find with thinner set 1.2",higher contrast ratio 3,000,000:1 and less power employment.A bit more expensive than LN55A950.
