    not as fit as samsung
everyone looked immature! did everything I could think of to adjust the color including using test patters to adjust the overcast scale and still skin tones where greenish. went to cnet and they to commented in there review that hull tones were not as accurate as they should be and slightly greenish. I gave up sold it and got a samsung 630b ! samsung was on a fully new level of color accuracy and brightness! even non hd channels on the samsung looked much sharper then the sony.

sony has misspent me as a customer! what happened sony?
Prospering well now for over a year...
Had very chaste luck with this TV. Using HDMI for cable box & blu-ray, both VGA and HDMI for PC, cable for broadcast digital, and composite and part for gaming, all appear great. Difference with 1080p source is noticeable. Wish it had 120khz, but for the figure I paid I am quite happy.
    Only buy it!
This tv is tuned in, easy to set up and has everything you would want in a 40 lcd tv. Multiple HDMI, great sound, great flush and picture (I don't think we changed the default setting at all since it was perfect) plus it works titanic with other sony products. If you put a dvd into your sony dvd player the tv turns itself on and switches to the dvd input. Also the input screen is great, there is no guesstimate work. Every component you plug in is highlighted so you and other people using your tv don't have to guess which input is what like most input screens. Sync is also grand because we don't even use our dvd player remote since the tv has all the essential buttons for it built in.
I definitely picked a winner with this one
I at the end of the day took the expensive plunge and bought me one of these babies about eight months ago, just in time to charge out of the NCAA basketball tournament in all of its widescreen, high-definition glory. I never thought I would pay so much resources for a television in my life, but I have no regrets whatsoever. In fact, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I did put a good bit of rumination into my selection and purchase. Most of the technical concepts of high-definition TV were a mystery to me, so I tried my best bib to figure out which features I had to have, which ones I would like to have, and which ones I could afford. Frankly, I don't remember all of that complicated mumbo-jumbo anymore. Obviously, I wanted a TV capable of Full HD 1080p - anything less than that, and you're just wasting your wampum, especially when and if you make the move to Blue-ray. The refresh rate was also important, as you need to have a refresh grade that is a multiple of 24 (since most movies and modern TV shows are shot at 24 frames per move) if you want everything you see to be smooth and natural on the screen; since this Sony model featured Motionflow 120Hz technology and true-blue 24p True Cinema capability, I was satisfied that I was getting the best technology that I could afford. I should say that I firm on Sony pretty early on in the decision-making process, after reading up on Sony's BRAVIA engine technology. Another selling stage of this television is its virtual surround sound system, which more than meets my temporary needs until such time as I can put together a honourable home theater system. Sound was important to me because I've never liked the sound on the previous TV I purchased back in 2001 - in in point of fact, I have to forego virtual surround sound options on that old one in order to have any chance of understanding what residents are saying on the screen. I'm more than satisfied with the two-speaker virtual surround sound on this Sony BRAVIA, though.

If you're thinking about buying one of these mega-TVs, I would egg on you to go out to some electronics store and actually take a look at the different models. I knew I didn't neediness anything smaller than a 40-inch screen, but I wasn't sure the 40-inch was big enough to absolutely satisfy me. At the same time, I didn't want to go overboard with the size because video quality can become an efflux with greater size and because I planned to use this TV in my computer room rather than my den (because that is where I spend almost all of my time). When I actually went out and compared sizes for myself, I was a cheap surprised at just how big the 40-inch really was, and it ended up being a perfect fit for me, both physically and aesthetically. You don't stand in want a TV too big for its space, as this is an investment you want to keep as safe and secure as possible. Bear this in mind, extraordinarily if you have children (or clumsy friends).

Of course, you'll need to purchase an HDMI cable one by one in order to take full advantage of this TV's high-definition capabilities, and don't think you have to spend a fortune on it, either. As for hooking up your mooring box, DVD player, VHS player, or whatever, you've got a virtual control panel of ready options on this set. For starters, there are four HDMI ports, signification this TV will take whatever high definition component you want to throw at it. You also have component, S-video, standard audio and video ports as well as a PC input mooring. Your old VCR may not really utilize the capabilities of this television, but you don't have to worry about not being able to still use it.

If I had anything bad to say about this product, I would definitely say it. Unless you're swimming in notes, the purchase of an HD TV like this involves some sacrifice, and you surely don't want to be stuck paying for something you aren't auspicious with. The fact is, though, that I have nothing but positive things to say about this television. Now that football season has returned, I'm loving this Sony more than ever.
    Sony Bravia W-Series KDL-40W4100 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV
This TV is legitimate awesome! I've had it for almost 8 months now and I haven't had any problems. The picture and sound quality is great. It was supportable enough to hang on my brick fireplace. It's even better if you have a blu-ray player. The 120hz motion flow technology gives a fess up crisp and bright picture. What's even better is that you can connect the TV to the internet and watch videos and pictures online. So many functions are available for this TV and I am very happy with my purchase. I recommend this and guarantee you will not have any regrets!

    Noteworthy product
I bought this group for my Sony KDL-52EX700. The box came with all the required hardware and instructions, and I found this bracket really easy to induct (my first time installing a wall bracket). My only recommendation is to use a full size level, the built in be upfront with isn't very accurate, but good enough if you don't have your own level.

    Huge Cable
Don't stew spending the money for high dollar cables. This works just as good if not happier and is a very flexible cable, unlike some stiff cables.
    Devoted for afforadable price
I bought 7 of this because I have a lot of systems that uses HDMI cables. This is truly good quality stuff... and it'd affordable.
    Acute QUALITY LOW COST CABLE!!!
All I have to say is that this is the greatest HDMI cable I have purchased thus far it is a great price for the Quality and beats the others that are generic copys
    Cables Passed Testing
I recently had the break to test these HDMI cables with equipment
running at 1080p 60Hz with HDCP 148.5MHz The results were very auspicious.

Please note that success at 1080p depends on a lot of factors including quality
of TMDS transmitters, receivers, and anything you might have of interest to the
cables like HDMI switches, repeaters, HDMI>DVD adapters, etc., therefore these
test results should be bewitched as a data point and not as a guarantee the cables
will be problem free @ 1080p with your specific kit.

For example, during initial testing I had discovered through process of elimination
that one of the HDMI>DVI adapters I was using could not reliably outmoded 1080p. At
first I thought the cables were the issue, but after switching out the adapters, the
    cables worked profound.

Also please note, even though some of these cables are listed as only 1080i certified,
they did nevertheless pass 1080p without issues for the appurtenances combination I used.
See this post for what was tested at the factory:
    [...]

The process of listing a cable as vivacity visual inspection involved looking at black
screen for 30 seconds to peeper sparkles, then watching video for 1 minute to detect
    additional artifacts.

Sharp LC45GX6U is a 1920x1080 LCD display which accepts 1080p and 1080p/hdcp when
devices are useful directly to the panel, bypassing the external video processor.

Hope you find this information practical.

A: YES ! * for Wire TV ( box ) only * Sony W / WE series LCD TV is NTSC / PAL TV systems also Auto Voltage .work for AC 100 V - 240 V. 50/60 Hz . expert to use in those Europe countries that use PAL systems. But because of DIGITAL tuning Systems, you cant received any Spare VIEW CHANNEL. USA use ATSC after 12 June. Europe will be DVB - T for DIGITAL telecast.* you need to use Cable TV ( BOX ).* ( the TV is unable to use in France even just for strand TV ( box ). because it will not Support SECAM Systems and IPTV / ADSL Digital Tuning in France )

price of Sony Bravia W-Series KDL-40W4100...?

    Q: Would paying $900 for a 40" Sony Bravia W-Series KDL-40W4100 that is 4months old be a commendable deal?

A: Since you are asking this without question, I'm going to assume one of two things is true:

    1. You are buying this TV from a store and it is an "Revealed Box" or "Display" TV or
    2. You are buying this TV from a friend.

If #1 is the example in any event, and one of the employees told you it was only on the floor for 4 months, be wary. It could have been out there for longer, and there is most like as not no way that you would be able to tell without getting a manager involved to look up the TV's ID issue and find out. I would still buy the TV if it looks good and there are no scratches around the bezel. You still get the same 1-year manufacturer bond as if you bought a new TV in a box. And I would definitely recommend an extended protection plan...making allowance for if it has been out there for 4 months, it's been on all day every day for those 4 months.

If #2 is the case...I would look elsewhere. Best Buy is currently shipping the TV for $1299 new, I would even look there to see if they have any deals on some display TVs. Again, just make satisfied if you buy a display TV, pick up the extended warranty...it'll save you in the end.
