I plugged in a 360 to it via Component, set 720p and the picture runs off the Nautical port side of the screen. Dropped it down to 480p and its fine. Plugged in via HDMI @ 720p and this difficult didn't happen. Also, I noticed an option in the video setting that says 540p/1080i and on the website I couldn't find any info regarding whether or not these are the ONLY display outputs for the television or if thats something else entirely.
So I'm at best wondering if anyone has experience with this TV and if they could help me out. Thanks in advance. :)
A: Prosperous through component video you are running an analog hd hookup. That is only going to offer the native resolution of your 360. So if your tv cant handle the 720p (which it cant, sorry) the tv will try to downscale to the next highest commitment the tv can handle (540p).Which is not true hd. That is why your getting your slide. When running hdmi your getting the intact digital stream, the 720p will in turn rescale to the next true digital proposition the tv can handle or 1080i. So stick with the hdmi to get your real hd resolutions. Expect that helps.
On Toshiba HDTV, widescreen (30HF66), my DVDs won't display in wdescreen. HD cable works. what do i do?
Q: HD radio displayes it in widescreen and high def. But not DVDs. Also, on my xbox 360, the games show in widescreen but not DVDs
A: I over recall I would try shake-um's idea first. If that don't help make sure the DVDs you are worrying are widescreen. I know this may sound like a no brainer but it may be the problem. Sometimes you have to set the dvd jock to present in widescreen but since it is your xbox 360 too then this probably is not the problem. If you can't red-hot with the bars my mitsubishi has a stretch feature. Picture gets indistinct slightly but no bars.
