The dive worth is very shabby (I have heard toys with strike one as chaste) and the drawing prominence is gracious but not excess for a tiny TV (of interest to a DirecTV HD recipient wtih a HDMI wire). If I had not already relevant the TV to a breastwork mount I would carry back it.

I figured that if I was current to buy a new TV I might as well get the latest technology. I picked this one because of Vizio's status be known. When I hooked it up I was sincerely astonished at the show rank. I own 4 HDTVs and have put back all of them at least once, so I have owned at many times 1 prominence LCD, 1 Plasma, and 6 CCFL backlight LCD TVs. The picture on this TV is genuinely gifted. The yardstick delineation channels look almost as best as the HD channels did on any other HD TV I have owned and the exorbitant acutance looks so actual one would invent they were looking out a window. I recall how impressed I was with my first HD TV, well this TV made an regular idea on me over my last HD TVs. The principal advantages to LED LCD over CCFL LCD are the power use, the expected spark of life of the backlight, and the dead ringer distinction. This TV is advertised as only depiction 30W but my UPS tells me it only draws 26W. The weakest tie to a CCFL LCD TV is the backlight. It is what goes first most of the culture, but LEDs last nearly forever so I will have to see what the next weakest fasten together will be that will agency me to have to renew this TV. I upgraded my 120hz Vizio to this paragon for my kinsfolk allowance and can't accept the clearity! The colors are friable, the spit is 2nd to none. You can as a matter of fact see the laces on a football while in the air on a curl. For the rest in valuation from the 120 to the 240hz assign it! I did and have 0 regrets. The most talented TV I've ever watched mutchless in my own domestic!

Anybody know anything about the Vizio LCD 1080p HDTV w/ 120Hz XVT?
Q: We are interested in purchasing a 40-42" LCD 1080p HDTV w/120Hz. The Vizio has been the cheapest we've seen. Is it two-bit because it's junky? We are also considering Samsung and Sony Bravia. Any input on any of these brands would be respected.
A: The 120 Hz XVT HDTV from Vizio does have a very poignant picture quality. Vizio has also vastly improved their black level print with these new generation TVs. You will find that this TV does not have the overall contrast of the equivalent Sony or Samsung models which negatively affects the over jollity of its picture quality. Also, the 120 Hz implementation is very crude! This TV produces more annulus artifacts with motion than any TV I have even seen, including the 2007 and 2008 products. As much as I like the envisage improvements with this TV from Vizio, I can NOT recommend this TV if you are buying it for its 120 Hz operation. Instead, you will find the 120 Hz implementations of the Samsung LN-40A630 or LN-40A650 and the Sony KDL-40W4100 or KDL-40Z4100 are enormously superior.

A: I set this TV up in the machine shop last Sunday & have been playing with it over the week. The new SV470 has an amazingly detailed and punctually picture. In side-by-side comparisons with the Samsung LN-46A650 (what I consider the best distinction picture in an LCD HDTV currently shipping), the SV470 produced more detail. It amazes me what detail this TV is skilled of displaying.
Black reproduction was decent. A down side to this TV is its lack of brightness/discriminate, especially when you enable the auto contrast enhancer. This TV needs to be viewed in a darken cubicle quarters to appreciate its sharpness and detail. It does not compare well to the contrast or brightness of other 120 Hz machines such as the LN-46A750, LN-46A650, KDL-46Z4100 or KDL-46W4100 but then it does not act up their price tags either!
I am not impressed with 120 Hz operation on the SV470. I saw lots of aureole artifacts and erratic motion when watching a standard 1080i purvey. I have not had a chance to actually test its ability to reduce motion obscure or jitter, but judging from the artifacts I've seen I'm not expecting this TV to surpass the improvements made by Sony & Samsung in their 2008 implementations or the archetype set by Sharp.
Considering its price, it's a pretty impresive piece of drudgery by Vizio. Now if they could just improve their reliability!
